12 Named Atlantic Storms Likely this Hurricane Season
The Weather Channel recently announced the forecast for the 2016 Hurricane season. The results reveal an estimated 12 named storms and five hurricanes, with two out of the five anticipated to be major storms (category 3 or higher).
This research was obtained from a recent study conducted by Dr. Phil Klotzbach along with Dr. William Gray at Colorado State University.
According to the CSU research released on April 14,
“Coastal residents are reminded that it only takes one hurricane making landfall to make it an active season for them, and they need to prepare the same for every season, regardless of how much activity is predicted.”
3 out of 5 US cities most susceptible to being hit by a hurricane happen to be in Florida. Go figure.
- Houston
- Tampa
- Fort Myers/Cape Canaveral
- New Orleans
- Miami
If your city has a spot in or near these top five, make sure you are insured for the worst.
