As we gear up for Thanksgiving, companies are about to begin their yearly gifting and thank-you cards. At MacNeill, we typically see a wide range of different thank-you’s each year, and we can usually count a handful of ways that companies show their gratitude. What really stands out to us (and we are assuming most clients/businesses) are those that went the extra mile to let us know that they care.

We thought we’d put together a list of fun things we’ve seen so far. Here are some examples of new and creative ways to thank your clients this holiday season.

1. Send a funny thank you video from your team.

A quick online search will turn up countless resources to make this easy and fun.  There are many ways to use humor in a thank-you video. Can’t think of anything? A warm message from the heart will also have a lasting effect.

2. Send a personalized gift basket with food items.

A box filled with unexpected treats like chocolate bars, candy, or even gourmet cheeses will leave a lasting (and sweet) impression. The best way to execute this is to ask your office to contribute as a team effort and build an assembly line to fill the boxes. Then ask a volunteer to load up their car to take to the post office. Your clients will be shocked at the effort your team made. This would even be a great time to document your team working together for social media, and a way to hype up the perks of being your client.

3. Gift cards for coffee or lunch are always appreciated.

Many organizations now have e-Gift options so you can pay and send in minutes.

4. Healthy food.

Subscriptions offer light and creative snacking for a client that will keep you at the top of their “like” list.   These have become very popular of late and there are several options online.

5. Volunteer or donate on their behalf.

At MacNeill Group, we collectively volunteered over 2500 hours last year for the Focus Foundation, a non-profit organization that works to deliver a meaningful impact on our community through programs that support education in the Insurance industry and feeding the hungry.

While sending gifts one by one may seem strenuous, try dedicating one day to create the product and one day to focus on quality assurance and sending it out.  You’ll be finished before you know it!

With the combination of humor and creativity, you are guaranteed to stand out to your clients this holiday season and the rest of the business year.
