Vice President of Sales and Marketing (Focus Technologies) – Sarasota, FL

 
Job Summary:  Develop and direct the sales and marketing plan for Focus Technologies. Direct corporate communications and manage external corporate image. Facilitate client development through marketing and client services programs.  Participate in product development strategic planning.
 
Essential Functions: 
 

  •  Work with Executive Management in designing and then implementing and executing the Marketing Strategy for Focus Technologies;
  • Design, implement, and execute the sales strategy for Focus Technologies;
  • Develop appropriate market intelligence. Elements of this responsibility include:
  • Conduct appropriate market research;
  • Research competitors’ products and market direction and develop and maintain competitor database.
  • Work with Executive Management to establish and administer the Sales and Marketing budget;
  • Organize and implement client relations including: client development activities and special events
  • Execute Focus Technologies’ RFI and RFP response process including:
    • Soliciting RFPs from desirable prospective clients;
    • Managing the preparation of RFP responses for new business and participate in RFP presentation sessions.
  • Oversee corporate sales and marketing communication activities including:
    • Communications to clients;
    • Press releases and public relations efforts including:  sales collateral, seminar participation and advertising
  • Develop, manage and report on the sales pipeline including the development and administration of a marketing database which includes client and prospect information, mailing lists, access to financial reports, etc.
  • Assist with and support the Company’s involvement in various professional insurance networks including coordinating business development and marketing activities via these relationships;
  • Oversee firm’s electronic marketing efforts including webinars and supervision of web site design and maintenance;
  • Oversee company’s participation in trade shows and evaluate their effectiveness in relation to the marketing strategy;
  • Participate in product development strategic planning by focusing short and mid range product development on the needs of potential and existing customers and providing information on market potential to guide long range product development and communicate to the rest of Focus Technologies and its related companies the status of sales and marketing efforts

 Minimum Requirements: 

  •  Background in insurance technology marketing;
  • Three or more years of marketing within an insurance technology environment;
  • Marketing management and strategic planning experience;
  • Proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program;
  • Demonstrated budgeting experience; and
  • Demonstrable level of the required communication skills.
  • Must be self managed, highly motivated, a self starter and detail oriented;
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to work under tight deadlines;
  • Must be able to deliver work on time and complete;
  • Must be highly organized;
  • Able to work well with staff at all levels in the Company;
  • Polished presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills;

  • Strong leadership and consensus building skills;
  • Working knowledge of property and casualty insurance processing solutions; and

Minimum Educational Requirement: 

Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Marketing or Insurance preferred.

Additional Information: 

A remote work site is allowed for the performance of some, but not all, of this position’s essential functions.

The duties of this position are normally performed in an office setting and the noise level is usually moderate. 

 This position requires travel to trade shows, prospective clients and existing clients, as well as other sites as may be appropriate.
