Doug entered the insurance business in 1980 as a Field Auditor and Risk Inspector for all insurance lines. He completed “Basic Insurance School” at Oberlin College in 1983, and in 1984, he assumed an administrative position with Frank R. MacNeill & Son, Inc., initially working on special projects including the formation and continued development of several domestic Property and Casualty insurance companies.

By 1996, he had earned the position of Executive Vice-President & Chief Operations Officer of Jardine MacNeill, Inc. and, in 1998, was elected President of Jardine MacNeill, Inc. In June of 2000, he purchased the company from Jardine Lloyd Thompson and changed its name back to MacNeill Group, Inc. As President of MacNeill Group, Inc., he takes great pride leading the company in a culture of excellence through education, professional and personal development, and continual process improvement.

Doug currently holds a 2-20 Florida General Lines license and a 1-20 Florida Surplus Lines license. He is a member of the Professional Insurance Agents and served as the 1993-94 Zone 2 Vice Chairman of the American Association of Managing General Agents – Under Forty Organization.
