Luis started his insurance career with a respected New York brokerage in 1965. Over the next several years, he attended the College of Insurance in NY, managed various underwriting units, successfully oversaw the expansion of the company to California, Washington and Georgia, and later created a very successful startup retail agency.

A few weeks after relocating to Miami in 1992, Hurricane Andrew paid its devastating visit to the area. Luis went to work with Insurance Services and Adjusting Company (ISAC) as part of their Catastrophe Team. A few months later, MacNeill won a contract to service the business for the newly formed FRPCJUA and offered him the position of lead underwriter.  
 
In 1997 Luis was promoted to Assistant Vice President and took on additional duties in the company including the expansion of the underwriting department. In 2002 he was promoted to Vice President of MacNeill Group, Inc. and charged with the duty of overseeing all underwriting and customer service departments.
 
Luis holds a Florida General Lines Property & Casualty License (2-20) and has earned a CIC Designation. He continues to further his education and is involved with various industry organizations and committees.
