Our program insures Beauty or Barber Shops with the owner as operator, operators as employees, or operators as independent contractors.  We provide coverage for masseuses/masseurs, manicurists, ear piercers, and those providing makeovers and facials.  If there is more than one tanning bed, an additional premium will apply per unit.

Operators who are independent contractors are included as additional insureds.

General Liability Underwriting Considerations

• Limits up to $1MM/$2MM available
• Umbrella/Excess available
• Additional Insureds are $100 each, fully earned
• Per Person Rates are per employee or independent contractor
• Errors and Omissions coverage is mandatory and included at no charge
• Submit more than 20 full-time operators each location, risks with swimming pools and risks with more than three hot tubs/spas, three masseuses/masseurs, five tanning beds or two full-time operators for ear piercing
• Prohibited: body piercing (other than ears), botox or other cosmetic injections, chiropody, hair implants and tanning salons
• Prohibited if annual receipts are less than 15 percent of overall gross sales (prohibited for Umbrella/Excess):
  • Beauty schools
  • Laser hair removal
  • Other-than-organic body wraps
  • Any risk that manufactures, mixes, blends or repackages products sold for use on or off premises
  • Permanent makeup
• Sexual and/or Physical Abuse Coverage is mandatory and included at $25,000/$50,000 Limits – there is no separate premium charge. Increased limits available.
