A Message from Kevin Tromer, CEO

To all our Agents and Partners,

First and foremost, our hearts and minds are with each and every one of you, your team members, your families, your customers and your broader communities.

Over the past few months, we’ve seen our world, our country, our communities and our businesses come together in extraordinary ways to do our part to combat the severe financial, emotional and social impact of the Coronavirus. It’s been both remarkable and distressing at the same time to watch it all unfold while, together, we faced new and unforeseen circumstances.

Though both our Business Continuity and Enterprise Risk Management plans contemplated pandemic response, we never could have imagined we would need to invoke them for something like this. We are fortunate, if you can call it that, to have experienced and “weathered many storms” over our nearly 80-year history, and this time is no different. We are fully operational working from home, and confident this experience will continue to serve us well in keeping our operations running smoothly despite what may lie ahead.

We want you to know we are here for you! We are in this together! Our teams are working steadfastly as is our technology to make sure you have the products and services you need to not only survive, but thrive. As testament to that, business continues to flow in at a steady pace, and for that, WE THANK YOU!

I encourage you to reach out to your MacNeill Team with anything you need, even if it’s just to hear a friendly voice in a time that can feel quite isolating.

Our commitment to customer-focused, technology-driven, relentless execution isn’t just a mantra; it’s our way of life. In the days, weeks and months to come, it will guide us through the adjustments necessary to adapt to a world that is forever changed.

Please stay well and know that we appreciate you.

– Kevin Tromer, CEO

Underwriting Bulletin | Bind Restrictions Update

On Thursday, March 19, we sent you a notice to alert you that the binding authority extended to MacNeill Group® by Capacity Insurance Company and Spinnaker Insurance Company was restricted for adding and/or increasing Business Income (BI) with or without Extra Expense (EE) limits on the following:

  • Any existing in-force policy mid-term, or
  • Any renewal policy at the renewal inception date.

Effective immediately, this bind restriction also applies to new business.

Please be aware that a number of our carriers have put similar restrictions in place for new and/or existing business. We strongly encourage you to check with your account executive or underwriter if you have questions about adding this coverage to new or existing business.

MacNeill remains open and ready to assist you through our MOUSTM instant quote service and our team members. Remember, for coverage to be bound, you must receive a binder from MacNeill. This includes any business initially rated via MOUS. Once rated, a request to bind via MOUS is only a request to bind; it is not considered bound until your request is reviewed by a MacNeill account executive or underwriter, and you receive a binder from MacNeill.

These restrictions are in effect until June 1, 2020, unless otherwise notified.

For quotes, visit mous.macneillgroup.com and select Quick Quotes or send applications to quote@macneillgroup.com.

Thank you for your business. We look forward to continuing to serve your insurance placement and servicing needs.
